At camping Erfgoed de Boemerang, you can enjoy the varied terrain with plenty of greenery, spacious pitches and wide views.

The many birds on the site, our alpacas, goats and the beautiful diverse nature reserves in the immediate area will surprise you.

The atmospheric, characteristic village of Meppen is unique in the area.

Cycling, walking and good food

Our campsite is an ideal starting point for various cycling and walking routes, but there is also plenty to discover in the immediate area when it comes to food and drink. Want to be sure of a nice spot? Reserve here.

To maintain the peaceful atmosphere at our campsite throughout the season, we focus on those seeking rest, nature lovers, people over 40 and seniors. As a result, it remains wonderfully quiet at the campsite during the summer period and school holidays (July and August), while you can still enjoy the summery temperatures.

Sanitary facilities

Nice, clean and equipped with all amenities

The sanitary facilities at the campsite are nice, clean and equipped with all amenities. In the rooms you will find dispensers with hand soap, toilet seat cleaner, shampoo and washing-up liquid. There are also raised toilets and wall grab bars in the shower and toilet rooms for seniors.

This charming and green campsite is run with great enthusiasm by Rob, who keeps the sanitary facilities clean himself, along with his wife and son. This pitch for tents, caravans and motorhomes is ideal for trips into the wide surroundings. Bicycle rental, extensive information about sights and even a tasty ice cream are examples of the basic but useful facilities. De Boemerang is a gem in Meppen.

Very beautiful and green campsite. We stood on a field with a view of the meadows and a flock of sheep. It was simply fantastic. Very helpful and friendly owners. The sanitary facilities were top notch, super clean and luxurious. The surroundings are also beautiful for cycling. The decking is also a godsend, especially when the weather is a bit bad. Luckily the weather was wonderful during our stay. The campsite is highly recommended.

Very beautiful and quietly located campsite for people over 50. We have never seen such cleanliness in the shower and toilet buildings anywhere, with the necessary disinfectants and shower products. Very friendly welcome, a must for anyone who loves nature and peace.

Chalets

Camping, but without a caravan

Don't have your own camping equipment, or are your parents or friends camping without a caravan? Since 2022 we have been renting out four fully renovated chalets for 2 persons.

With a complete kitchen, underfloor heating, smart TV and a large veranda with a deckchair. Bed linen and final cleaning are included, and one dog is welcome.

The surroundings

Step straight into nature from the campsite

Via the back exit you can easily walk into the Mepper Hooilanden. From the campsite, cycling and walking routes depart, passing hunebeds, heathlands with sheep flocks and the Mantingerzand.

Meppen itself is an atmospheric esdorp with restored Saxon farmhouses, restaurants within walking distance and an ice cream parlour.

When is the campsite open?
2027 from 2 April to 1 October.
Can I see when booking whether there is a spot available?
No. The booking form does not show availability; the calendar always shows green. State your preference in the comments field. If there is no spot, we will let you know by email, and if there are alternatives, we will call you.
On which days can I arrive?
From Monday to Saturday. The reception is closed on Sunday. Camping arrivals are from 13:00 until the day of departure before 11:00; in a chalet you are welcome from 15:00 until the day of departure before 10:00.
May my dog come along?
Yes, dogs are very welcome, on a leash on the site. At the campsite you pay € 3.50 per night. One dog is allowed in a chalet, not in the bedroom or on the sofa, for € 7.50 per night.
Can I come with a camper van?
Yes, on pitches N1 through N3, N11 and N12. The camper van may be a maximum of 7.5 meters, you must stay at least 2 nights, and the camper van must remain in its place during your stay. We do not have a disposal point for grey water; you can empty it by hand into the disposal point for the chemical toilet.
Can I camp with a discount card?
Yes, with the ACSI CampingCard, the ANWB CKE card and the MCC card from the Oranje Gids. In 2027, 2 people camping in the low season pay from € 23 per night on a standard pitch and € 27 on a comfort pitch.
