Sanitary facilities and amenities
Two separate units, one for men and one for women, with a canopy in Drenthe style in between. In the spring and autumn seasons the underfloor heating is on.
The sanitary building
Spacious, clean and practical, with soap and shampoo. Walls down to the floor for your privacy, a dividing wall so your clothes stay dry, and a place to sit for a moment.
Washing cubicles for your privacy and 2 washbasins per room with a generous mirror wall. Next to each washbasin is a power outlet for shaving or drying your hair, and hand soap.
Cleaned several times a day. With a fountain tap and hand soap, toilet seat cleaner, a shelf for your toiletry bag and a hook for your coat or towel. For men there is a urinal.
Covered and spacious, with 6 sinks. Each sink has a timer for free hot water, exactly enough for a full sink, and a dispenser with washing-up liquid.
Dishcloths are available at the washbasins and dishwashing sinks and are replaced twice a day. Free to use so you can leave your washbasin clean.
At the back of the building you will find the disposal point for your chemical toilet.
Washing up
You don't pay extra for hot water and the shower. The heating and hot water come from a central heating boiler fuelled by wood chips from a sustainably managed forest.
And because we have our own descaling installation, there is no lime in the water. With this soft water you can halve your use of soap, shampoo, laundry detergent and washing-up liquid, your skin dries out less, and coffee and tea taste stronger.
On and around your pitch
29 pitches with 10 amp electricity, water and sewage, of at least 100 m².
From 100 to 150 m², with 10 amp electricity and guest wifi, and drinking water nearby.
Charge your electric bike at the charging point. Once it is full, make room for the next one.
Every Tuesday from May through August, the fish seller from Kollum comes by around 13:30 with fresh and fried fish.
Even in the dark you can find your way to the sanitary facilities or your car, and atmospheric lamps glow around the pond.
There are fire extinguishers at 5 points on the site. The map shows which one is closest to your spot.
Seniors
In the shower cubicles, there is a bench with hooks and a small shelf for your things in front of the splash screen, and a grab rail hangs on the wall.
Some toilets are senior toilets: the bowl is mounted higher than usual, and a wall grab rail helps you stand up and sit down.
The pitches 3 to 5 are close to the sanitary facilities, and these are also comfort spots: you don't have to haul water. All main paths are paved, and in the evening the whole site is well lit. Chalet Schaap is on ground level.
